Cherry Blossom Shop Blowout Sale

As the Cherry Blossom comes to a close, The Cherry Blossom Gift Shop on Mulberry St (1st Floor of the Fickling Building) is having a Blow Out Sale Wednesday through Friday (April 1-3) from 10:00 AM til 4:30 PM. Nothing over $5.00. The shop is changing from a year round shop to a seasonal shop.

CrimeStoppers Makes 2,000th Arrest

The Macon regional CrimeStoppers announced on Thursday, March 12th that they had reached the 2,000th arrest since their start eight years ago. Warren Selby, Chairman for the Macon board of CrimeStoppers made the announcement before members of both the Macon Police Department and Bibb County Sheriff's Office, as well as representatives from other local law enforcement agencies. The CrimeStoppers partnership is a proven method to bringing criminals to justice and the City of Macon's Police Department is a committed partner in this process.

City of Macon Eligible for State Grants

Today the City of Macon was notified by the State of Georgia that the city is eligible to receive grants from the state once again. This frees up grant money for many local assistance grants that have been awarded and also for future application for grants by the city.

Mayor Reichert and Chairman Hart Promote Vision for the Future

Special Guest speakers Mayor Robert Reichert and Chairman of the Bibb County Commission Sam Hart will address Macon’s three Rotary Clubs at the Armory Ballroom on Monday, March 2nd at 12:20pm.

FRANK JOHNSON RECREATION CENTER TO OPEN NEW COMPUTER RESOURCE CENTER

In a continuing partnership to provide greater educational enrichment opportunities to families and people of all ages throughout the city of Macon, Campus Clubs and the Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreation Department will dedicate a new neighborhood computer access center at Frank Johnson Center. A press conference to highlight the availability of the center in the Unionville neighborhood will be held Thursday, February 19th at 3 p.m. Key officials from both Campus Clubs of Macon and the City of Macon and Macon City Council will be present, including Mayor Robert Reichert.
